LML fuel filter change?

Hi everyone,
This my first diesel. My question is when changing the fuel filter, is it better to fill the new filter with fresh fuel before installing and then finish with the primer or just install it empty and and fill completely using the primer. The other hot question - mileage or go by DIC as for when to change?
Thanks in advance.

Steve

DIC and primer.

The current version of the filter will last MUCH longer than the older versions.

The DIC is way too long of an interval. Use that if you want to be stuck on the side of the road someday.

So how many miles on the factory one before a change? 10k? Or 12? Also I got the filter from amazon, to have a spare and the ac delco part was tp3012 and the cost was 31.11 with free 2 day shipping with amazon prime. Not a bad deal. I also bought a cheap water filter sensor wrench that attaches to a 3/8 ratchet.

I use the Parker Racor PFF 50216 for my LBZ. I get them from MRMANNERS on here. I change mine every 5000 and consider it cheap insurance. I know a lot of guys around here will run them 10000 miles though.

I changed my filter at 50,000 miles, and still had 25% filter life remaining per the DIC. With another 6,000 miles since, I'm on the same pace. I won't need to change the filter again, as I'll trade-in the truck before I hit 100,000 miles.
