I can tell you this. I get about 18 mpg on freeway but once the regen mode comes on I drop down to at least 14mpg only I have an egt gauge so I know when it comes on. So take that out of the equation and you dont drop from the fuel being used. It uses a lot

How do you know if it.'s in regen? Is it diplayed somewhere? I added fluid once so far. I have around 5000 miles on my truck and only drive it once and a while now. It's mostly around town.

Just lookin for info on DPF....
Was not from the op, but where the thread started to head. I didn't take comment to heart at all.

I think it would be safe to say 3-5mpg depending on how much that little skinny pedal gets pushed. I'm still waiting to make sure nothing is wrong with truck before the modding begins.

Also I still am waiting for more tuners to be released. Egr delete is a must regardless of who you go with.

I mean for those who do not have a egt gauge.

My truck seems to be in high idle alot lately. Maybe that's a sign. I guess I got to get it up on the freeway.

Question LML DPF Delete

Hey I'm new to this forum and to the diesel world. I recently bought a 2012 Silverado 2500 and been wanting to install the dpf delete. The only problem is that I'm from the bay area and I've been to a few shops and it seems like no one can do it. Anyone from the bay are that know somewhere I can go??

My thoughts exactly. The regs are probably written with a pollutants/mile metric, so total emissions are not part of the equation. The automakers pass along to you the approximately $1000 additional these systems cost (from what I've read). Then you pay a second "tax" for the extra fuel.

They don't check for smog at the inspection stations where I live, and if it weren't for warranty issues, I'd have had my DPF and urea SCR systems deleted yesterday just on principle.

The real reason these systems have come on strong is to keep exhaust soot out of lakes and streams. Diesel emissions settle down to earth, gas emissions go into the atmosphere.
