Check engine...P2201 & P2202

I had surgery on my achilles tendon and my truck has sat in the garage for over 3 weeks. My son drove me to do a couple of errands Saturday and while on the road, the check engine light came on. We pulled into Advance Auto and threw their analyzer on just to see what the codes were. Both codes refer to "oxides to nitrogen...". I'm sure that is probably a sensor. Common sense tells me a sensor may have gotten sooted up since the truck sat for 3 weeks. It will be another week or so before I can drive and take it to the shop myself. In the meantime it will drive me crazy just thinking about it. Do any of you guys have any thoughts, comments or recommendations? Thanks in advance!!!!

Its probably just an update...same thing happen to my 2011 last month before I traded it for my Denali. It was a 10 minute fix, bring it to the dealer when you get a chance and let them take car of it.

Thanks ctdmax! I like the way that sounds better than a sensor issue for sure. Boy do I miss driving my truck. Only 2 more weeks before the Dr says I can drive again.

P2201 NOx Sensor Circ Range/Perf Bank1
P2202 NOx Sensor Circ Low Input Bank1

I threw the same code when I went to a locking fuel cap - turns out that the cap was not on tight - took 60 miles to clear the code. Now I always ensure the fuel cap is tight and it has not happened again.

Here is my info I posted when I had 400 miles on the truck (fuel cap issue - April 2011):
Only 400 miles on my LML and the Malfunction Indicator Lamp came on. Used the OnSTAR Diagnostics and the issue is associated with the NOx Sensor Bank 1. I did not get the full description of the problem code. I will take into the dealer tomorrow. There are no performance problems associated with the trouble code/issue. Anyone have a similar issue or have one of these codes come up?

I never took it to the dealer - check engine cleared and has never come on again - now have 17,600 miles on the truck. I did call the dealer and the service rep. said that having a loose fuel cap can cause the code - go figure.

Thanks NorskeyNY!! I'll hobble down the steps to the garage today and check the fuel cap. Hopefully, I'll be driving again in the next couple weeks. Don't know which is worse, not driving...or riding with my wife. hahaha

Well, the great news is that the Dr released me to drive last week!!!

The next good news that since the truck had been sitting for weeks while I was on the mend, the tech cleared the codes in hopes it had something to do with not being driven. The not so good news is that it threw the codes again in less than 50 miles. The next good news is that they figured out that it was the NOX sensor. The next not so good news is that it's gonna cost $350+ to replace the sensor.

Whether its coincidence or not, my Duramax will never sit that long again. As bad as I would hate to do it, I'd have my wife drive it to the grocery store. IIIIEEEEEEE!!!!!!

Michelle, GMCustomerService, can you please check to see if there are any systemic issues with this NOX sensor? I'm hoping there is and that GM may help me out since, according to the dealership, this sensor and labor are not covered under the warranty?
