| Chimes and diesel smell in cabin 2012 dmax Hi folks, I have a 2012 GMC 2500hd Denali with about 8K on the clock. Truck is stock and two days ago it first did the following; Chime, chime...30 second break....chime chime....and then diesel smell in the cabin... It did this again yesterday. Both occurrences were while driving; first at highway speed, second at around 40 mph. No notices at all on the DIC. Any ideas? Thanks in advance for any thoughts and everyone enjoy a great Thanksgiving! |

| Take it to your dealer and have them check for stored codes. You paid for the warranty, use it. Sounds like you have a leaking downpipe , there is a TSB on this issue that the dealer will perform, usually just a misaligned pipe.

| Happy Thanksgiving to you as well, DenaliHDDT!!! I would have to agree, since your truck is a 2012 and only have about 8,000 miles on her, you need to get it into the dealership. Michelle, GM Customer Service |
