| How Loud Is Your Transfer Case In 4HI? Hello brothers.  With the onset of winter I've had the occasion to use four wheel drive the past few weeks. Although one cannot expect a transfer case meant to handle serious torque to be whisper quiet, mine seems to whine a fair amount, especially on coast down. My exhaust is still factory stock (i.e. quiet) which makes any case noises that much easier to hear, but still I find myself wondering if my noise is normal for an HD part, or if something is wrong. At highway cruise, light throttle, the volume of the transfer case whine on coast down is about 75% as loud as the engine itself. How loud is yours? Is your exhaust stock like mine?

| I noticed the same thing yesterday as we got a pretty bad snow fall. I've got a 4" turbo back with 3" downpipe. Mine wasn't too loud just sounded to me like something dragging on the ground. I'm not sure if this is normal or not.

| I never noticed it on mine, but I did overfill it with transynd through the speed sensor.

| I know there was a thread earlier where there was no oil in the T-Case.

| I drove around in 4HI a lot the past two weekends and I never really noticed any sound coming out of the transfer case. I switched it to 4LO a few times and could barely hear a whine from the T-Case.

| mines stock and the TC hardly makes any noise. Even on hard pavement at 60mph. No I dont do that often but i did kick it in once on the hiway because I knew you could and just to see how it acted.
