| winter cover my 2005 duramax came with a winter bumper and grill cover....the 2012 didnt! i never used it much on the 05 except when traveling up state. do i need one for the 2012? or have they done away with them on the newer trucks?

| To my knowledge they have not done away with the engine covers. The truck needs a cold weather package to get the cover with the truck. Let your fuel economy dictate whether to use it or not. I am in Detroit, and have had mine on for a couple of weeks. The fuel economy came right back once it was installed.

| In 2011, the winter front was included if the original ship to location was considered to be cold enough to need the front. Someone on here will know if this is true for the '12 and '13 models. If you need/want one you should be able to order it.

| My '13 came with one, it wasn't listed as an option on the window sticker. It was under the rear seat. I have the Denali though

| you can order a winter cover from any state but in some states or areas (gm decision) you will get the cover even if you did not order it, of coarse you get charged for it my 12 came with one and a block heater in Michigan
