I have a 2012 Duramax 2500. Questioning a tune and exhaust system

I have a 2012 Dmax, I put a S an B cold air intake in it. I am thinking about having a MBRP exhaust system with a custom tune put on it. My question is, i have heard the tune can do damage to the transmission. Im not ready to build another transmission or have one built. I guess i am just nervous. i want the exhaust and the tune, being a custom one, but i dont want to damage the transmission. Any advice would be great.. Thank you

Pretty much your only bet for tuning with the emissions removed is H&S. And, even they have stopped shipping their tuners for now so the only availability is what dealers have in stock right now.

If you keep it stock ,you won't have to worry about transmission at all. With the crack down on tuner companies , be very careful , you may end up with more problems after deletes, and no support from aftermarket.. Lots of stock trucks running around with no issues. Once you start playing , mods will be needed and the money starts to disappear fast.

If you're looking to run a tuner down the road you might wanna buy one up now seeing as H&S is no longer producing them

Thanks

Thanks for the advice. I was also told that the tunes were not being made. I really want to put an exhaust on down the road. The mbrp exhausts I liked. I was told that I would need a tune with the exhaust or the 2012 truck wouldn't even run due to the fuel map system and computer. Any advice for down the road if I want an exhaust on it? And would the tune make my tranny limp. Any advice would be great. Thank you guys

As far as being safe with your trans in the long run it'll come down to how hard on it, also don't run any tune bigger than 100 horse over stock in the future and you'll be fine
