11 lml def quality

just upgraded from an 03 lb7 to an 11 lml with 53k on it. on the way home from picking it up, i had the def quality poor light come on with a cel. from what i'm reading, it sounds like the 2011 models had an issue with a nox sensor. will the dealer replace this under the emissions warranty or is this an actual recall. if it is a recall or pip, does anyone have this documentation so i can make the dealer stop easier?

@busdriver75 first let me congratulate you on the truck!

Under normal circumstances, this would be covered under the Emissions warranty. When the dealership gets the diagnosis done, they’ll be able to provide you with the warranty details.

In regards to recall information, please send me a private message with the VIN of your truck and I’d be happy to look into this for you or you can give the VIN to the dealership and they can let you know of this.

I have had my 2011 since august...so far i have changed both nox sensors and the last time i got the poor quality message they ended up cleaning my def injector...it was partially clogged and not providing enough of a spray...since they did that it has been good

i added 2.5 gal of def to it after reading the manual on the way home saturday. def light stayed on all weekend. i was actually on the phone with the dealership this morning and as i was talking to them the def light went out. i still have a cel, but hopefully that goes away with a few more key cycles.

Don't play around with some of those DEF warning lights if they pop up again! The are restricted by mileage and will go into limp mode leaving your travels to 4 mph...
