Sensor question

Can anyone tell me what this sensor is? I'm guessing it was one of the EGR Pyrometer but since the EGR is disabled can I unplug it? I'm asking because in my new intake I have to move the air sensor and don't have enough wire with that sensor spliced into it.

If that pipe is coming out of the cool side of the intercooler like I think it is, it's probably a temp./pressure sensor of some sort. I'm pretty foreign to the LMM. Give it some time, someone will chime in.

Do you just want to unplug it to clean up the engine bay? Look for an EGR delete pipe and see if they have a bung for it. If not, cut it out of there.

no i need it out of the way. my Banks intake is "modified" off an 08 and everything fits except that air flow sensor. Just curious as to if it could be removed or not without throwing another code or causing any problems.

You have hands and a wrench don't ya?

Unplug the sensor from the harness, start your truck, see if it throws a code. Drive the truck around the block, see if it throws a code. If all is well, remove the sensor, plug the hole with the proper plug and you, my friend, are off to the proverbial races.

If the truck throws a code when you first unplug the sensor, you might be doing some trimming on your CAI.

Don't be afraid. If it throws a code, reconnect the harness and clear the code or CEL. If you don't have a code reader, it will correct itself after a few key-starts.

Was the issue the length of the factory harness? Did you relocate the MAF sensor in the CAI? Is that what I am looking at?

That silver probe sticking up out of the elbow on the intercooler pipe is the cold air intake temp probe.
The sensor on the air intake is the MAF sensor, both are needed for the truck to function. Even if your deleted.

There's your answer^^^.

All I was worried about is relocating the MAF sensor in the CAI, as it may not read correctly and confuse the ECM. I might be paranoid though.

Well I bought the intake off of a buddy that sold his 08 and put it on my 05. Then I sold my 05 and want to put it on my 11, but the sensor for the past two was on the elbow. And the 11 is right up front with that EGT gauge spliced into it. So I just moved the hole. If you buy the actual kit for the 11's that's where it is located. I just didn't want to spend another 400 when I can modify this one to work as before.
