It will soften up around 5000 miles after the trans breaks in and part of it is the constant 'learning' the trans goes thru.....sometimes it gets confused as to what gear it wants and once the discs wear in (burnish) it won't jerk as hard on those once-in-a-while wierd shifts.

I have about 10.5k on it now, so I guess thats not too far from 5k. But from what I am hearing nothing to worry about.

Yeah i guess your's is fairly broke in by now depending on how you drive. Maybe the fact that mines tuned and I drive it pretty hard forced it to break in faster. lol

Mine was perfect until 10000 miles then it started a horrible 6 to 5 downshift. Done it until 30000 when I deleted and reset the trans and its smooth as silk now.

Had same issue. drive 60mph lightly hit accelerator until truck downshifts but it bangs.. took it to chevy dealer couldnt find anything but after further investigation chevy said there was a file to re-program TCM. It wasnt in any of the dealers tsb's or anything. it was like chevy was trying to hide it or say that there wasnt a problem... anywa, long story short there is an issue and chevrolet does have a file to re-program tcm.. shifts fine now.!
