Engine Block heater cord

I have a 2011 silver ado. But I don't have a plug for cold weather. Told it wasn't really necessary. So not all trucks were ordered with them. Any comments would be helpful.

Its not necessary for cold weather startup, but depends on your opinion of cold weather.

Some of them dont have it. call a service writer and they will check your vin to see if you have one or not. It is stored zip tied by the passenger's side battery as they said.

I've never seen one that didn't have it, but rather or not if they have been freed up from under the pass. battery/fender well area. Needed to start? That's difference of opinion. My Ohio dealer flat out said (Sales and Service departments) that the Duramax does not need it, nor have it, and what not. Dad reached in, and cut the cord lose and showed them. At that point they wanted to charge a $110 for the option that wasn't even on the window sticker...

It should be there. Remove the passenger side fender well and you will see it ziptied to the frame...

Builder12395, the engine block heater is an available option on all the trim levels of the 2011 Silverado. It isn't a standard feature. If you would like me to research the build sheet for your vehicle please, send me the VIN at michelle_renee@gmexpert.com.
