Guys, is it safe for me to run my mini maxx on "hot" without installing a FASS or AirDog?? I'm not planning on driving it hard and definitely wont be racing so will I be ok??
Thanks

If you're not hammering on it then you'll be fine. Its only at or near full throttle that it'll drain the fuel rails.

Would you be able to feel a loss of power when that happens?

Yeah dude, it doesn't matter what gear you're in. As soon as it runs out of fuel it will fall on its face. I've done it in ever single gear on Hot.

you really don't wanna hurt the cp4, and running it dry is'nt good for it. some guys (very small percentage)are losing their hp pumps just running stock tune (have not heard any solid reasons why yet, wether its fuel quality, or just the design) and just hitting 'passing' gear will run out of fuel on hot. I vote yes on lift pump

Yes you can run it without the lift pump on Hot.

Yes, you do not want to drain your fuel rails. This is not good for the cp4, as Ken has stated.

Yes, we have had to replace a cp4 at 40k miles on a stock duramax. I'm sure it was the lack of lubrication in the fuel. Running opti-lube now to prevent future foul ups.
