even with a teardown, they can only speculate as to what caused it, especially if the pistons (multiple) are cracked. And if the pistons are cracked or melted the consensus would be 'high egts'. Even if a couple injectors are busted, they could/would blame the tuning. It would be a 100% waste of time for dealer to go any farther IMO

I'm not sure that what I did did not blow it up. And it's not heavily modified. It's mildly modified. To top it off, what I did has been done by many other people with no problems. This has nothing to do with the $ involved from my side. It has to do with getting the blow off from GM before considering what happened. This truck had previous problems serious enough for even GM to have considered a buy-back. As I stated from the beginning (if you bothered to read it,) I have no problem rebuilding the engine myself, but it would be really annoying for me to get this thing torn down only to find that whatever failed was completely unrelated to my mods. Then, I'm potentially eating the cost of a manufacturer's defect.
Youre an idiot. If it had problems before why did you delete the dpf and tune it?

Bottom line...YOU knew what you did voided the warranty, so why are you crying about it? GM has the right to blow you off...you voided your warranty, period. That makes everything void they arent responsible for anything. No one to blame other than yourself...you pay to play.

I see no problems with the Duramax motor, that is why I bought it. I will just keep filling the DEF tank and diesel fuel tank and run it till I am bored with it. Honestly I dont think you can wear one out. The goverment has controlled the auto industry for years, nothing new here. I fill that GM has some of the leading technologies and engineers in the industry to back up the motor and trucks. I am not going to say a part can't fail, but the quality control has to be pretty damn good in the auto industry. I have driven below and above sea level without turning the truck off for days, not one failure yet in the truck except for the windshield washer tank sensor failed. I just think hands down they have the best diesel design in the light truck world. My opinion is mine and that is why we have forums.

The problems were due to the driveshaft. What does that have to do with deleting the DPF and tuning it?

By the way, it's "You're".

The 6.6's are GM motors. Older diesel "GM" engines were designed by Isuzu, then it was Isuzu and GM together, then GM took over the joint venture (more than 10 years ago). They are GM engines now.

Is the turbo compressor wheel loose. Did they check for a bad turbo?
