DPF delete tuning with DPF

so as i said before my dad purchased a H&S XRT pro and wants it just to clear the emissions codes it throws, is it possible to run the DPF delete tuning with the stock exhaust on the stock setting?

Not sure that I 100% follow your question, but if you have a higher then stock HP setting and the DPF is in tact you will cause excessive regeneration and build up on the DPF. Eventually most people find that they reach a point the truck can't keep up and a manual forged regen will be required.

I don't know that this has been tested extensively on the LML platform, but when I was looking for tuning with my LMM I was told that you could reach about a 50 or 90hp tune MAX with the DPF in tact.

If you plan to remove the DPF and say it's been deleted, then you will for sure clog the DPF as it's not completed necessary regen cycles.

you can run deleted tuning on stock setting, but you need to get rid of the stock exhaust.

Confusing question, but you have a 40hp and 80 hp tune with stock exhaust, the 80 will plug dpf alot faster.

You need to run DPF tuning if the DPF is still on the truck, otherwise it will not regen and slowly plug the DPF.

Trying to clarify a little. He has had nothing but problems with the emissions stuff and bought a tuner to eventually get rid of the DPF all together but he doesn't want it loud so he just wants the tuner to clear the codes when it throws them because that's all the dealership is doing. Will it do this? Or do you have to delete the exhaust?

Okay, well, if you still want it to be quiet but with no dpf, look in to a DPF race pipe. However, this will void the warranty and they will be able to tell if the DPF has been removed due to how many times the truck has done a regen, let alone notice that power output has increased a significant amount by reading the TCM.

Yeah, you can use a tuner to clear codes...if its capable. A $20.00 code reader would also. just set the tuner to stock power, no hp added(or +40 or +80), with DPF present

I only said 'if its capable' because I'm using the minimaxx and it reads/clears codes. Can only assume xtr pro does as well. I've cleared codes while on the freeway a few times without stopping

That would be a question for H&S or someone that already has the product. Sorry.
