Is it possible to replace the chain in my transfer case Without removing the whole transfer case from my truck????:trying to take the easy way out:help
Yeah I know but I'm an Old fart and do not feel like lifting my transfer case out and back in I figured I could just drop the driveshaft and take off the back of the case and get after it
If you can remove the body it's doable in the truck
The rear case snap ring is on the top of the rear half of the case, can't get to it with the case still installed. Also, even if you were able to find a way to get that off, the torsion bar crossmember is in the way also and would have to be removed. Much easier to remove the transfer case.
Thanx guys I knew that sounded tooooo easy Oh well me and my old fart buddy will take the thing out,got nothing better too do (retired) good excuse to have a few brewski's
Do these TCs use a vc or pc or a planetary gear system? I am very familiar with rebuilding the NP249/242/247 for my jeeps but new to these tcs. What models are these?
