I still believe giving them the money was the right thing to do. When the banks were collapsing and stocks were tumbling, if GM had announced it too were bankrupt and laid off all if its workers imagine the panic that would have ensued. What would the nation's unemployment rate have been at that point? I think the money that was given was totally necessary to avoid a situation like we had in 29. Thats just my opinion.
