This is an old post but I was digging for the subject biodiesel.
I would stay stick with biodiesel and not veggie oil. Veggie oil is not great for performance and is a more novel idea in just getting by on a cheap fuel. Furthermore, waste veggie oil (WVO) ends up being hard to run without causing problems with injectors, fuel filters, etc. Diesel engines were never meant to run on straight veggie oil, biodiesel can work however.
As far as a tune is concerned, I am sure you could get a custom setup form any of the big shops out there. Overall though, a fuel mileage tune would not be a big issue on biodiesel. Moreover, I do not know anything related to biodiesel and performance tunes in these trucks. ATS sounds like they are working on something, why dont you ask them?
