| I have had an IVT in a 180hp 4wd John Deer tractor (7820). Its basically a hydrostatic. I really didn't like it overall on the farm. We ended up trading pretty quick just because of the transmission. Don't get me wrong it had it's ups and downs, it worked great in the field but not very handy anywhere else. I don't think anyone would like this tranny in a performance truck, it just wouldn't be very fun.
IVT has been around awhile it's nothing new, we bought this tractor in 2003 IIRC.
