Rear axle/tires/wheel ratings questions

Ok, I have just purchased a 38.5 ft 5er, GVWR 13960 and dry wt 10990. Dry pin wt is 1980 per manufacturer. I have a 2007 2500 HD CC Duramax (of course) regular bed truck.

I have taken the truck to the CAT scales and tomorrow will take the whole rig there for the rest of the info. My GVR for truck is 7680 with full fuel, me, 2 gensets, and 20 gal gasoline for the gensets. By my calculation when looking at the GVWR of 9200 I don't have enough payload left for my pin weight.

Now, I have read and read and read and have gotten as many different opinions (based on others' scenerios) as to how to make this work. My tires are rated at 3190 each (not sure but assume "D") and my rear axle at 6900. Some have said let your tires be your limiting factor other have said axle and even others say only go with GVWR.

I just picked up the 5er on Saturday. It tows like a dream, stops, goes up hills, and can't feel a thing when the 18 wheelers blow by. I don't much care about DOT, but I do care about my own safety...

Can you all please weigh in here?

I am prepared to bite the bullet and buy a 3500 DRW especially since I called my dealership and can get a new one ordered with all the options that I have on my current 2500 for $3K less than I paid 2 years ago...

Ok, opinions please! And thanks!!
