I've ran a few pieces of heavy equipment with detroits in them. Not something you want to spend 10-12 hours a day on! The noise just drains you, to the point of complete exhaustion! And they are gutless wonders until they're wound up as high as they'll go.
I got a buddy who has a dump truck with one, and he straight piped it
I've heard him leaving his house in it from 4 miles away before. Could probably hear it from farther on a clear quiet day.
