GM Certified.. I think I got snookered

When I went to the dealer and did the haggle dance it was a "GM Certified" truck, the carfax report I ran listed it as "GM Certified", when I call the credit union the salesmen told me to tell them it was certified to try and get a bump in the loan value. Ok, thats the intro, on the P.O., worksheet (that paper that I signed and I'm commited to it but its not bank specific). It had a "Non GM Certified" stamp on it with a blurb saying the purchaser turned down the 5yr/100k warranty with NOTHING in the signature box and I had no intention of intialing to turn down the warranty. After everything was signed and faxed to the credit union and I got my copy of the papers back... there was some unintelligble cat scratch initials in it. Can someone explain what the GM certified means from a loan/warranty/money standpoint (I understand the inspection process)? My credit union was a big pita in the process but I liked it cause _they_ got the dealer to come way down (they would only cover NADA fair/low condition trade in value and I only had a few thousand to add). I'm wondering why they initialed it FOR me, did I just lose out on a warranty out of spite or would I have had to pay more for it? Sorry for the novel here but this has been burning in my brain since I left the dealer yesterday and noticed it on the paper work.
