I've read that after awhile your oxygen sensor will tell the computer to enrich your fuel mix because it doesn't sense as much emissions and therefore your fuel economy will go back to normal. You can get a device to fool your oxygen sensor much like a finger stick fools your egr. Check here: EFIE Described
