| There is a core inside the fitting exactly like the valve core on a tire. The core could be loose. The cap is probably missing from a garage charging the a/c and forgetting to put the cap on. There is alot of pressure in there so the cap wouldnt stop the leak though. If you want just remove the oter cap that you have and put it on that fitting to see if it doesnt leak.
