6.5 to 6.2L conversion

have a buddy thats got a mechanical 6.5 turbo in his truck. will all the turbo accessories etc. bolt right onto the 6.2 block and heads heard this really wakes these things up?

I have heard the parts are pretty interchangable. Im not sure if the turbo would include any electronic changes or not.

yeah from what i understood everything bolts right up the only thing you have to do is run a feed line and drain for the turbo theres no electronics to really worry about because its a mechanical pump just need a definite yes or no a 6.5l engine is pretty expenssive but the 6.2L dirt cheap and also they are a higher compression engine you put 5 psi of boost to these things and i guess they got more power than the 6.5l turbo

high comp and turbo = blown head gasket and bottom end I have a friend that had a 6.2 with a banks he pulled a hill with a tractor on a trailer and broke 3 rods and blew heads off block so watch your boost!!!

like i saidhe is only going to run 5 psi of boost. when he does the engine its getting a complete go through new bearings, seals, rings. he is also going to do a main cap girdle with a 4 bolt splayed cap conversion and head studs.

sorry i thought you were useing a used motor ya should be just fine and ya every thing will bolt up i think you will have to use the turbo intake,exhaust

the turbo from the 6.5 will go on the 6.2. I know this because me and my friends did it at school. all the out side parts will bolt right up.
