Bad fuel filter housing and accumulator

I just had my truck in for the recall on the injectors and glow plugs.

I noticed as soon as I brought it home a leak under the engine that I thought was diesel. I called them decided to take it in the following monday. Sat. I couldn't get it started, and had it towed in.

It seems the leak caused a vacuum leak because the fuel system is a sealed system. At the same time my information center warned me of low coolant, that was the accumulator.

My question do you folks out their think the damage was done to my fuel filter housing during the repair. They insisted on a new fuel filter during the repair of the previous service, and or is this a common problem. By the way I would not have to have it towed in if I had known about the charger on the fuel filter to pump the fuel. I may be off on some of the terms or words but you get the drift.

what kind of damage to the housing are you talking about?
If it is a light or hairline crack then yes, it is a common problem, but they could have caused it, but there would not be much of a way to prove that they did it I don't think.

Thanks for your comments, stupid me, I never even asked to see the filter housing. I knew the answer before I asked, but it annoyed me as it occurred as soon as I brought it home.

It is very common for the fuel filter housings to go bad. Call any dealer they are swamped replacing them.
There is a couple of people out there that know how to rebuild them for around $250 with your core.
