Sounds like to me that your torque converter is not getting the command to lock up. And if your brake lights do not work it sounds like to me that your brake switch has either failed or you have some other issue there. This switch illuminates your brakes lights when you push the brake peadal as well as command the torque converter to unlock. If this switch has failed it may not allow the brake lights to work or allow the command to the torque converter lockup command to happen. This switch is located underneath the steering wheel and it is connected to the brake pedal and the pushrod going to the master cylinder. It is a boxy looking switch you cant miss it.
