Cool used 07 Duramax

When I bought my used 07 6.5 2500 truck , the computer said it was getting 17 miles per gallon average. I noticed the clamp on the intake was loose and the tubing had slipped off. I repaired this and cleaned the Air Raid filter and now I am only getting 13 miles per gallon. Does anyone else have a problem with Air Raid or K&N air filters not letting enough air to the engine. The truck only has 18,000 miles on it.I am thinking I will disconnect the hose again and drive it a short distance just to see if that is the problem

I hate to ask, but do you have your foot in it.

I have a 2003 and get between 17.5-19.00 in town, and as much as 23.8 on the road without trailer. With the trailer it usually 13.5 - 16 mpg. My truck has this information posted on the instrument cluster. I have a lite cover over the bed which may help, along with a cold air filter set up.

I have a two wheel drive, ext cab with short bed and 265 tires, along with a hypertech program set at 96 add hp. option.

I used to be a little more aggressive because this truck goes, but with the cost of fuel I'm a lot more conservative.

fuel filter may need to be changed but also check air filter and make sure it is clean.
