| Ya the biggest problems why your truck's running hot, other than obvious possibilites like dirty radiator, low coolant ect. are two main things. One: Your intake sucks hot air in from the engine compartment and into the turbo, making your intercooler hotter, and your engine radiator less effective, and two: the turbo mouthpiece, which causes your turbo to work harder to suck in the same amount of air, which heats the charged air more.
Once those two things are taken care of it should be a lot quieter inside your cab (no fan on all the time)
The person I'd look up is Hook 'em Horns, he modded his stock airbox and noticed a world of difference (ie practically no fan activity). I'm sure he'd love to share his success story! |
