Wow congrats on the new exhaust install! I honestly never heard of someone saying there exhaust gotquieter even on a gasser! I'd say if anything the exhaust would get louder. The muffler is hollow as it is with fins and packing in it. The fins and packing start to get filled with soot causing a louder exhaust.
