My truck is an '05 Silverado 2500HD Ext. cab (Duramax of course!) with stock suspension. I currently run Cooper Discoverer S/T 265/75/16's on factory alloys and I have 1" of clearance in the front.
I have no problem raising/leveling the truck with the torsion bars but don't want to get too tall as my girlfriend is in a wheelchair and my back is not getting any younger. I definitely do not want to cut/trim anything.
*** My truck came with a set of green keys still in the box. Why would I need these to level the truck? Can't I just tighten the torsion bars as it is or is that too much strain? Won't I need to get the front end realigned after a torsion bar adjustment?
I am still trying to narrow my choices down yet on wheel choice so I don't have any definite offset specs to give you. I was leaning toward the Incubus Grim 505 but the distributor told my local dealer they are discontinued.
Other interests: American Eagle series 64, Alba 888, Ice Metal IM898, and Venti VE92(back ordered).
I am figuring on a 20 x 9 or 20 x 8.5 width and was considering a 275/60/20 Cooper HT+ tire. I like the look of the 20" set up on the Dodge trucks and that's how I came up with that tire size. However, I am flexible on the tire size. I would like to pack in as much width as I can but at the same time I don't want to get to too small of a sidewall height like the rubberbands some of the cars ride on as I want to keep my fillings in my teeth. Pimp mobile it is not. Even though it's a 3/4 ton truck, I am after a little more of a "street cruiser" look rather than the rugged off road look.
I sure appreciate the comments so far. I helps immensely.
