I had 2 new superdutys and was afraid to run them much past the end of warranty. Prior to that I ran strictly Chevy trucks for over 20 years and overall have found them to be very reliable and trouble free for the 1st 80,000 to 100,000 miles.

Were your prior Chevys gas or diesel? I talked to the diesel tech at the local dealership, he stated duramax designed to last ~ 500,000 miles.
Are planning to do any performance upgrades to your 04 duramax?
