2007 HD 2500 Duramax batteries dead
Greetings and Happy Easter,
New member here and already posted my introduction.
I found the site today trying to diagnois a problem I am experiencing with my truck.
My truck often sits for a couple of weeks at a time. Tried to start yesterday and the batteries were basically dead. turned over a few times than just solenoid chatter. both batteries read around 11.2 volts disconnected. I only have 17K on the truck and wondering if there is any commonality with the duramax. this is the first time this has happened.
I appreciate any assistance or recommendations.

You probably have one of the two going bad and draining the other down. Sitting for even a month shouldn't run down the batteries.
Pull the batteries and check them independent of each other. Or, if that's not possible, once you have them fully charged again and get ready to park for another extended period, just pull the ground off of one of the batteries.
When you come back several weeks later and try to start, if it's dead again just hook up the ground you pulled on the battery in waiting, and she'll start off the good one. The one left hooked up is the bad one. If it starts right off with the one battery left hooked, then the one left unhooked was the bad battery.

The bolt that holds the terminal tight may be to long it was on mine and if my truck sat for the weekend the batts would be deader than a doornail anyway bought two new interstates friday, left for the weekend and monday they were dead. I wiggled the terminals and the drivers side pos was just loose enough i could wiggle it. so i put a washer under the head of the bolt no trouble since

The truck should be under the GM warranty-36 month- have it towed to a dealer-- they should fix it for free!
