Need help breaking into the truck!

2002 Silverado, ext cab, power locks. I have a slim jim, but can't for the life of me break into my truck. I do NOT want to pay a dealer $50 to cut a key, and am trying to avoid prying the door back. Pointers would be helpful!

I had a silverado ss with shaved doorhandles back when, and when the poppers wouldnt work i would have to get a hanger and make a circle in the end of it. open the top of the door just enough to get the hanger in, and fish for the door handle. that always worked for me.

try the passenger side rear door with the slim jim if you have one or just try and get the hanger in behind the door like they said.

sorry didnt catch the ext cab part. just get the hanger in there if your worried about the paint put down some masking tape where your going to slide the hanger through so you dont scrape it all up. or find a buddy with aaa and have him call them up they will come unlock the truck for free.

Easy stuff.

You’ll need to cut 2-3 tapered wood wedges to use. Grab the top edge of the door with your fingertips and pull back enough to start one of the wedges in. It will flex enough. Keep working to pull it back more and push the wedges in deeper till you have enough room to slide a coat hanger through and push/pull the unlock button. (Been there, done that )

^^YEP^^, that's exactly what a pop lock service did when I locked mine in my truck, except their wedge was plastic. BTW, call your insurance company to see if they cover it, I tried for poops and grins and geico covered it completely and had someone out to my truck in a half hour

$50 to cut a key! It was $10 when I locked myself out.
