| 95 chevy 2500
looking to buy a 95 chevy 2500.. i understand they have had power issues with some of the engines in them? the guy said all he knows about the engine is its a 6.5l engine with the turbo anyone have any tips on which engine in them are good and which one isnt ....someone also told me the engine you want is the cat made engine is this true?
i am going to go look at it in a few hours he said hes ad 4 people call already and another guy is coming to look at it

| I know next to nothing about a 6.5 but i do know Cat didnt make any of them, and if i heard right AM General now makes them and still produces them!

| I have 2 tow trucks with 6.5's and there a great motor! Your not gonna get huge power or hp like the NEW Duramax, cummins, or Power stroke but for its time the 6.5 was awesome. There definatly a strong work motor!
I think the 6.5 was made by GM no cat or anything else.....

| the 6.5L Turbo Diesel is a engine that was designed and built by Detroit Diesel and the 6.2L was built by GM,my dad had a 97 6.5L TD and never had any trouble other then the fuel and injection pump went out of it 2k miles before the warranty went off of it witch is at 120k miles..
