Injector drive unit fuse keeps blowing!!

So sunday night i thought i ran my truck out of fuel but when i had it towed it only took 27 gallons of fuel!! GM dealer in dillion montana couldn get it started hook up there scan tool and it said it was getting feed back from the idu. They checked fuses and one was blown so they replaced it. I drove the truck 900 miles back to durango co yesterday never had a problem. Then this morning i left for work got a mile down the road and the truck stopped running. I immediatly checked the fuse and it was blown. I replaced the fuse and truck still didn start checked it again and it blew again. Any ideas on what could cause this?? I need help it gonna go to the dealership in the morning.

well hopefully some more people will look at this but here is the good news.... it runs. So yesterday i went down and tried to put a fuse in it just for $h!t$ and giggles and it popped it. So for some reason i thoughti would make sure i had a prime. Sure enough i didn't so i primmed it and put a new fuse in and it runs!! What could cause my truck to just lose prime like that going down the road??? My only thought is that when i ran it out of fuel it sucked some stuff up in the line and it got stuck and just broke loose yesterday??? IDK

You only have a 26 gallon tank right? You sure the first time you just weren't out of fuel?

i must have been but it was just wierd that it got fixed and i put three more tanks of fuel through it before it did this

If its blowing a fuse it has a short to ground somewhere. DO NOT install a bigger fuse. This will cause even more problems. You need to check under the underhood fuse block for animal intrusion. This is a common place for them to eat stuff up. Automotive wires are made with peanut oil when produced this is why animals are attracted to them. Hope this helps.
