I am not even sure if my truck is safe to drive as I am having to change the oil at <60 miles before it is full of diesel..... I guess my question now is, how bad do the injectors have to be to be warrantied???? The following post is mine from the FPR area. If it can go from no problems to what I have now in less than 10 days, will they completely trash out?
Having read all the postings, I feel I can change out the FPR myself, thanks for all who have given advice. Dealer quoted $350.00 to change (part and all), but since I am getting a crankcase full of fuel very fast.... Dealer said 2 injectors shot, 4 marginal, and two still good, would not qualify for the warranty replacement.... Went from no problems with truck to really trashing out in a week. Said FPR bad and could not finish test for warranty, so will replace myself and take it back to them. They said they had very few fall within the warranty guidelines and $3500.00 to replace injectors if it is out of warranty. Aside from the very high fuel and every 80 miles having to replace the oil as it is only fuel by then, would running it a while longer get the rest of the injectors to fail as they said they always failed all at once. Only 78k on a 02, and never a problem in the past, just the last 10days. Thanks....
keep callin the dealer drive em nuts take it to another one if not it doesnt even have 100k tell them to fix it but dont drive it youll wash your main bearings out and then the whole motors ruined and they dont cover neglect.

Thanks for the answer, will take a long time to build up that much $$$$, unfortunately 100% disabled and this is my only transportation. Life can deal you some bad ones sometimes, will just have more time to make lemonade... lol Am going to replace the FPR anyway and hope the others go bad quickly.... They did say the fuel return rates were high, but with two good injectors still, won't qualify.
Yeah if its still under 7yrs and 200k, I would on the phone with GM relentlessly explain to them your situation, even if you have to call Corp headquarters, someone has to be able to help you. Keep us informed.

Stop driving it, you will smoke some bearings very quickly. Unfortunate situation but 1200 bucks for injectors versus 6-8 grand for a new motor I think you can see the cheaper alternative.
Again thanks for all the replies‼ Unfortunately, it is $3500.00 for the injectors, and by the prices I have been seeing here on the forums, they may have quoted me only the cost of the parts since most are saying $5k for the complete job. Maybe a bad choice, but am going to buy a case of cheep oil and see if I can't get another week or two out of it, then take it back. Maybe ALL the injectors will be bad by then, not just most of them..... Just really feel it should not happen to a truck that has only 78k and has been serviced regularly and never worked a day in it's life....
it took me 4 stealerships to get mine fixed...one told me i had 5 injectors bad, one said nothing was wrong with the injectors and my AFE filter needed replaced and that was causing my problems and the 3rd dealership said you have bad injectors. Finally I talked to a buddy that know someone at a dealership and 2 days later i had 8 new injectors no questions asked. they shitty thing is they didn't replace the fuel filter or change the oil. So all i can really say don't give up and try a different dealership
