Today in the afternoon i went to my truck and started it and for about 10 sec it ran and just died. I replaced the fuel filter and that did not help. It just cranks and wont start. I unscrewed the bleeder valve on the top of the fuel filter and no fuel came out. Could my injector pump be bad how do i test it..
Did you push the hand pump on top of the fuel filter housing? You are supposed to open the bleeder screw and then push the pump until fuel comes out of the bleeder screw and then tighten it..try to start. Repeat if necissary.

I need help with this problem too. The no starting came on randomly, not instantly. Now it wont start at all. Fuel filter was replaced because of the problem. It was properly bled and was running great. When the problem started back up, I would pump the prime 3 times and it would start, now there is NOTHING. Do injector pumps go out slowly or could I check somewhere else?? Is there a pump in the tank?? T.I.A
as far as i know their is no aux pump on the LB7. the injector pump sucks from the tank and pressure up the rail. I have had a problem with a no start on my 02 LB7 and found out their was a fuel line fitting that was leaking. which would bleed out and allow air into the system. which then would take alot of cranking of the motor to get the cp3 pump to draw from the tank and then pressure it up. not to mention all the air in the line. hope this helps out a little.
there is a pump on the frame before the water seperator filter
it could be that or the pmd i have had this problem before it was running fine shut it off went to start it again and wouldnt start it was the aux pump changed it it worked fine for a while then one day shut it off went to start it again and wouldnt start listened for the aux pump it was working borrowed a pmd from a freind pluged it in started right up
I did some reading up on this for the last 2 hrs and found some great info but nothing worked. checked for fuel leaks, opened the water drain and NO fuel came out, removed the filter and it was full. Primed the filter and cranked the truck........lost prime. Had wife crank while I pumped and nothing good came out of that either. Truck is a 2003 w/ 130k. WHERE IS THE CP3 PUMP????? I read that it is in the valley but that it runs off the crank...WTF?
How does your oil look? Over full and smells like diesel?? Also i dont think you will get anything out of the water/fuel separator unless you crack the bleeder screw on top. Yours could be your injectors.

does the primer even get hard when you pump it up? if it doesnt get hard then its bleeding the fuel out somewhere. their is a few rubber hoses that goto your cp3 which is in the center of your motor a small leak that bleeds off pressure would take along time to fill that valley where your cp3 sits. take a look underneith all your intake hoses at the center of your motor with a flash light see if their is any fluid sitting down in their.
