Trans not shifting

I drove to work today and had no problems. Got to the shop, put it in park, opened the bay door and put it back in gear and it wouldn't come out of first. Turned it off and it wouldn't move in Drive or Reverse and it said " Range Shift Inhibited". Tried it later and it moved when in Drive and Reverse and then all of a sudden it started to "lurch" forward, like something was twisting inside the trans. Turned it off and started it again about 10 minutes later and it is running/driving like it never happened. Drove it to a trans shop and he hasn't gotten back to me yet. Any ideas?

Is there another name for the shift actuater? I tried looking it up and it is saying they can't find it.

Fuel filter and trans filter will be changed in a day or so. Waiting for them to come in.

They are saying that they do not recognize the part name. I will call NAPA. Thanks for all the help.

I was having a similar issue last week. I changed the both trans filters and fluid, fuel filter, NSBU switch and nothing changed. I ended up having to change out the shift cables because they were stretched and the adjustment was all froze up.
