new alternator now truck doesn't run

k just changed my alternator and now my truck wont start. when i was reattatching the power cable i accidentally touched the turbo mouthpiece with the wrench and there was a few big sparks. could this have killed my computer? if not what could be the problem. it cranks over real good and i think its getting fuel. primed it a couple times now. please help.

I don't know if GM uses them, but some cars have "fusible links". A really dumb idea, in my estimation because you can't tell if they're blown, and usually they are hardwired. Perhaps some of the other guys might know for sure.

Any luck yet? Now I'm starting to side with you on the ecm, but would also think if it did fry something it should throw some codes. Got anything to check for codes? Would be nice to have some of the pros chime in, but I think there all in the post The best truck ever.

well i left the battery charger on it since about noon today and it just fired up at about a 9 o'clock. now, i let it run for a while then took it out for a half hour drive then let it run in the drive way for a while and guess what. i shut if off and it wouldnt start again. i think my batteries are right shot. ive still got my old alternator (105amp) and the 145amp i replaced it with ill have the old one checked and if its still good then i know its gotta be the batteries. but still it was cranking pleanty fast. i dont know why it wouldnt start. thats gotta be it. cuz computers dont go out and then come back.

did you check to see what your voltage was when the truck was running? if it was around 14 your alternator is fine
sounds to me like its your batteries, the short to ground might have killed them when your wrench hit
