Exclamation ball joint!!

so im in the process of installing a new passenger side upper ball joint, but as i tighten down the stud nut the stud starts to spin inside the joint so i cant torque it, ive tried hanging the weight of the hub assembly and also jacking up the wheel end so the UCA is being pressed up but it still spins

on my 98 1500 i replaced all the ball joints and i dont remeber the best but i thought i got some vice grips and wrapped a towl around it and clamped it.

Do the threads look ok on both the stud and the nut? I'd clean them up as much as possible and put some grease on the threads then put some weight on it to keep it from spinning. Mine did this too but somehow I was able to get enough weight on it to keep it from spinning but I can't remember exactly.

figured it out! i had to put a pry bar between the UCA and the knuckle and ended up not using the nylock that came with the new ball joint because the nylock would just bind everything up

bad balljoint complete, now to replace the other one when im not getting rained on the whole time
