window motor assembly

in my drivers side motor assembly the wire that pulls the window up and down broke. I would assume you have to replace the motor also or can you just replace the wire? has anyone tackled this or is this somethin I should take to the shop and have fixed?

I replaced the window motor on a Suburban once. The motor came off of the assembly with the wire and guide. If it is similar then you should be able to re-attach the existing motor to a new assembly.

You need a window regulator and the motor may or may not come w/ that part. But if you can get just the regulator w/o the motor, that's all you need
