Turbo Wine

Need some help!
I am new to these trucks, I recently took my truck to my dealership because my check engine light was on. They told me it was the ERG ( not sure if thats right ) valve. Well they fix that part but when I get it back i hook up to my 16' enclosed (empty) trailer and about 100 miles into my trip the light comes back on with a really anoying wining noise that goes along with the turbo sound. I get home unhook the trailer and the light goes off but the noise is still there so I go by the dealership again and they try to tell me its the turbo, I have had my truck for a year now and its never made that noise. Anyone ever had this problem or have any info for me please.

2006 Crew Cab 2500HD 6.6 Duramax w/ Alllison Trans.

thanks in advance!

They have had some EGR valve problems on the 06 and 07 trucks. They should have fixed that at no charge to you.

When the check engine light came on the second time, did the truck lose power? Is the turbo whine you are talking about much louder then it used to be? If it is then I am thinking an intercooler hose blew off. Look a couple of places. The blue hose on top of the engine. The blue hose on the drivers side bottom where it connects to the intercooler. The black hose on the passenger side right next to and slightly below the air filter box. If any of these hoses popped off you should be able to see it.

the truck never lost any power. Yes it is much louder than before almost sounds like a bad ground on a stereo coming through the speakers but its only on the drivers side coming from the front end. Its loud enough when friends ride with me they ask whats wrong with my truck. It was under warranty also. I will check the hose;s again but i didnt see anything the other day.
thanks for the reply

If you blew a boot you would no it. It would not have much power at all. Did the dealer replace the turbo?

Sounds like they left something loose when replacing the EGR valve.
