Well, I finally got my truck back yesterday. The dealer replaced all 8 injectors, changed the oil and fuel filter. All the parts were shown as "WARRANTY". However, I was charged $160.91, for labor and misc. shop supplies! I have disputed this charge to no avail. I have contacted GM customer service and that is about useless! Evidently I was charged labor to pour the oil in my truck and install the fuel filter. I am STILL arguing with the dealer!
Has anyone else had to pay anything for the fuel injector warranty? I just don't see how I can be charged anything for a warranty repair.

I completely understand what you are talking about, BUT it could have been worse........you could have been stuck with a $3500.00 bill if you hadn't known about the warranty. But on the otherhand, I can't say I wouldn't fight that. That better be the best damn oil change ever!!!!!!

I agree, it sure should be the best damn oil change ever! I am really glad that I found this forum and was told about the warranty on the injectors. Believe me, the Chevrolet dealer wasn't giving up any information when I contacted them the first time. Of course, once I told them that I knew the injectors were covered by warranty for 7 yrs. or 200000 miles, they knew what I was talking about. I asked for a copy of the TSB on the injectors. According to General Motors and the dealer, there IS NO TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN! I'm not believing that..... I want to see for myself where it says the customer pays for any part of GENERAL MOTORS WARRANTY SERVICE ON THE INJECTOR REPAIR. I have never in my life paid $ out of my pocket for a manufacturer's warranty repair.

I remember getting a letter from GM on this. My injectors went out right after I got the letter. I think I paid some money, maybe $100.00. I was happy to get it done at the time. I probably would have pushed it had I known what wankers GM had running their Customer Service dept. I found that out later when my dual mass flywheel kept failing. That is another story though.

No deductible for this warranty work (the $100 deductible deal is for extended warranty thing). Anyway, the dealer is now saying it was "my choice" about the oil change but it wasn't my choice! I was told either I pay them to do the oil change or they won't replace the injectors. They claimed that the oil HAD TO BE CHANGED and I HAD TO PAY FOR IT. Never mind that I'd just changed the oil in the truck the week before. Oh well, like you say, if I hadn't learned about the special deal from GMC regarding the injector warranty, I would have paid several thousands! I'm glad it was only $160 bucks. The truck is running like a champ now.

I just got homr from a trip satuday night and my truck was smoking really bad. Got on this sight found out about injector problem. today being monday called gm customer service they said it should be covered, by the way it is a 01 3500 dually.Customer service callrd a dealer to set everything up while I was still on line. I took my truck in they have tested it and it is bad injectors but it is 7 yrs and 3 months old and their not going to cover it even though it only has 146 k's any sugestions

glad you got the truck up and running, also glad that your looking on the bright side instead of letting $160 ruin your life..
