Trailer plug charge wire

I do not have any power to the plug to charge the battery in my camper on my 2008 Dmax. There was a couple of empty slots on the fusebox under the hood that I plugged a fuse into both of them and I still get nothing. Now that I think of it, I did not test it with the truck running. Does the truck need to be running? I did turn the key on and tested but I did not start it. Any ideas ?

Trailer Charge Circuit

Try this link:

While this was not written for a 2008 Sierra/Silverado it will explain & show good pictures on how to remedy your problem.

This should place a constant 12V on the correct pin at the rear of the truck. You should not need to have the key in the on position.
