| trailer brake light problem I have a 2006 chevy 3500 duramax and the right blinker and right brake light on the trailer won't work. I hooked it up to my other truck and it worked fine. So i know that it is the fuze. So I used a test light on it and it didn't work. So I pulled the fuze out and it didn't look blown. I put a new one in and the lights still didn't work and the test light didn't work. It seems like powers not getting to that fuze but the left works fine. Does anyone know how to fix this? |

| i did that and couldn't find one that controlled the trailer lights or that is blown. Could it be a relay?

| Use a test light on each side on the top of the fuse. Another way to check is to remove each fuse and ohm them.

| I know where you're coming from. The first day after I bought my truck I had the same exact problem. I couldn't figure it out, so I went back to the dealer all pissed off that they sold me a lemon. Well, the salesman managed to find the fuse under the hood. I'm not sure which one it is, but your problem sounds exactly like mine. Let me know if you can't find it, and I'll try to look at mine. Good luck.

| i looked under the hood at that fuze box. I pulled just about every fuze out and couldn't find one that was blown. So if u could take a look at your that would be great.

In the instrument panel fuse block at the left doorjamb, just below center and to the left are a grouping of 4-10a fuses controlling truck and trailer stop/turn signals for left and right, with the 2 lower being truck and the ones above being trailer (tilt your head to the left for proper orientation).
Check Impedance for the fuse, not just a visual. Check power to the input blade for the fuse using a small meter probe, a test light may be too large.
Below the dash and behind the parking brake is the center panel fuse block containing the 6-way trailer relay, top row, second port from the left.
Have you done the obvious and checked for damage to the trailer plug/wire harness, maybe you ran over/snagged some debris unnoticed? The stock set-up does hang low.
