I have a 2006 LBZ 4wd dually. I pull alot of weight every day with this truck. It has 129,000 miles on it (in the last 15 months). I got fuel and ran the truck about 250 miles and got the P0087 code. I have a Banks Ottomind installed but I do not run it because it constantly gives me Trans Slip codes. I replaced the fuel filter and it seemed fine for another 200-300 miles then gave me the code again and put the truck into limp. I cleared the code with the Banks PDA to get home. It only gives me the code on a hard pull. When i took off the filter the first time there was some water in it. I plan to pull it off and check it again tomorrow. Any ideas?? I am kinda in a cram because I have a military load on my trailer that has to be delivered Monday morning.
If you have a good fuel filter on it you may need to shim the FPRV. What level are you running the Banks on? You could turn it down where its not requesting as much fuel so it will hold rail pressure better.

May be a bad batch of fuel causing the filter to get plugged again. If not, put back to stock. If not the fuel or filter, next step is shim the FPRV ($15.00 kit w/instructions), if not fixed, then I'd lean towards a weak injector pump.
Thanks, the only thing i use Banks for is to clear the codes. I dont run it. I am hoping its a bad batch of fuel. I did get it at a major truck stop so it should of been fine.
No, it was a Loves in TN, never had a problem with any major truck stop in all the years I have been driving. I removed the filter today and no water in it. Hope I can make it to my delivery tomorrow!
