coolant leak

i have a 2003 and it just started leaking coolant i got under it to see where it was leaking and it coming from the just above the lower radiator hose any body know what it it?

Water pump-- it is a common problem! About $500 with labor at the dealer. NAPA sells one for about $80. If you are handy with tools, you can change it yourself.

if your truck is still covered under the 5 year/100,000 mile warranty it will only cost 100 for the dealer to do it for you...well worth it in my opinion. BTW, Welcome to the forum!!

Welcome to the forum!

Id find someone with a pressure checker and have them put it on to test your system. That way you could see for sure where the leak it. It could be a cracked gasket, housing or just a loose bolt!

looks like it is coming out of the weep hole in the picture...or that could be an optical illusion on my monitor

I agree with ob_1jr. But remember if you take it to the dealer and the leak is found to be on the engine your covered by the 100k mile warranty. Its a $100 deductible if over 36k miles. That way its done under warranty, you done have to do anything, and the new parts are under warranty!
