Dad had 3 edge's in his 05 and they were all junk. Took a 4th one to fix it. When he traded I was glad to see that thing go. Now he's got a PPE in his LMM. Edge is not that good on quality and I personally would stay away. My cousin had 3 go bad on his 04 lb7.

I think I'm the only one on here that hasn't had any problems with my Edge. (knock on wood) My only complaint is that it doesn't remove the speed limiter. Can you remove the speed limiter with EFI?

I wouldnt buy EFI, unless plan on using it to tune though. Kinda a waste of money.

I havent had any problems with my edge either (knock on wood)...i have had it on my truck for about7 or 8 months and it has worked great for me. I have no complaints about it so far, except for what you said, and that is that it doesnt remove the top speed limiter, or have the ability to block EGR codes associated with an EGR block plate. I have read numerous posts about people not having any luck with an Edge product so i always have the thought of the module malfunctioning in the back of my head. But as long as it continues to work properly for me then im satisfied. If and when it messes up, ill consider a different tuner.

I honestly still wouldnt knock it. They sell thosands of problems so your bound to have a few defects! I do sorta agree though. My buddy bought a 05 duramax with a Edge already in it. He said at first it ran fine now it shuts off and makes the truck go do all sorts of things
I hate to put out any bad press about a product if it doesn't deserve it, but once it puts you life in danger- well lets just say it leaves a sour taste in your mouth to say the least (they are lucky my daughter wasn't in the car or I'd be calling Edge this AM and reading them the riot act!)
If the product hadn't done that and kept on working flawlessly (or even with the occasional display glitch) I would have been okay with it. Just like the rest of us I work pretty damn hard for my money and for over 7000 I just expect more.

I have to tune in here, as far as hand held tuners go, the only one that I have personally not heard any BAD press about is Banks... I have a 6-Gun w/ spd loader and have yet to have problems, and I work the truck pretty hard when I am hauling, I am talking Gross weights up to 43,000 lbs... I have not personally used Edge, but a friend of mine just put one on his Ford 7.3 and he likes it... Maybe it is just a GM thing???

Ya the dodge guys love it i had on my 02 Cummins and it was great. Dmax seems to be edge's only issue.

i think the edge has problumes in dmax becasue of the high under hood temps. our dually shop truck has it on it and it payed for its self the first trip to cali in fuel saving alone. its on an LLY and has never acted up but its never left setting number 2 (tow/haul).

My edge has been through plenty of long haul trips towing anywhere from a gross combined weight of 15,000 llbs, up to 36,000 lbs, and it has performed excellent for me. thats not saying that it wont malfunction sometime in the future. thats just saying as of right now, ive never had any problems out of it and it has performed perfectly for the use that it was purchased for.
