Have had my banks tuner installed for about 3 months now, and never had any problems. Had the check engine light come on and throw a p0606 code, ECM internal performance. and truck ran under reduced power. Started it up the next day to take to dealer , check engine light was on but truck seemed to run okay. Truck is still at dealer and they are telling me the ECM is fried and it was from the Tuner. Any thoughts? Has this happened to anyone else?

Sounds like the ECM troubles but not really sure. If you end up having to replace it, call Guy Tripp at Socal Diesel (i think he is Trippin' on here or dieselplace.com). He can get you a new ECM pretuned with EFI live for 300-500 which is about the price of a chip maybe cheaper depending on what chip. the truck is running and they are telling you it's fried?? i highly doubt it was from the banks.

I looked on dieselplace for you and it appears that GM has a flash to fix this code. If you have something to clear the code the truck should return to normal until you can get it reflashed. Sorry for making fun of your banks, just putting a good word in for Guy.
Run your truck by the dealership and it should be going in half an hour, its the only way to fix it apparently.

By the way if your dealer is telling you that sounds like they are playing the blame game. If you are able to i would just take it to someone else and tell them you want the newest flash.

I check the site for that code before I brought in the truck. I also printed out the bulliten from chevy and gave it to them, still told me the same thing. I also called banks, they said it is not from the tuner, the tuner does not and any voltage to the ECM, Could this have been a problem before I installed the tune or should have resent the codes and see if it happened again?

Reset the codes. Try a different dealer the one your dealing with sounds like a jerk.

I'm no ASE certified mechanic by any means, but I would imagine that if the ECM was friend that the truck wouldn't even move!!! That computer controls practically every aspect of the motor. Without it I highly doubt it would even run!! i would take off your Banks stuff and go to a different dealership!!
