well the hole you just dug for yourself by not knowing the limit of your truck limits you considerably. Since you already more or less sentenced your tranny to death... your best bet would be to save up for a tranny upgrade UPGRADE, not rebuild, and in the mean time do the supporting mods to get you ready for a tuner. And NO, your tranny won't hold the edge on high. Maybe like 1 or 2.

You need more than just a tuner to go fast and not kill your truck. You'll need exhaust, either delete your muffler on stock system, (cat too if you have one, but you shouldn't) or get a new aftermarket system. Then you'll need gauges to watch boost and egt's. Then I'd get your tranny done since you've already limped it, it won't hold as much power after the first time it gets limped. Do these things, and maybe a lift pump, and then...THEN you'll be ready to crank up that PPE as high as it goes.

PS, I'd stay away from EDGE, they've been having a lot of problems latley with their modules. Go with PPE, ATS, Quadzilla, or EFI Live (the ultimate)!!

Like stated above the stock allison is only good for about 90hp over stock, but since you have already limped yours more than once then it won't even hold that much since it gets easier every time you limp it. Best bet is put it back to stock or level 1 and save for the tranny rebuild.

Exclamation Good Advice!!!!

I would take the advice of these guys and leave it alone for now until you get your tranny in better shape!!! Like they said, now that you have limped it more than once you have weakened it to the point that it will not handle a tune, and unless you want to be towing it I would leave it alone!

Still be careful with the Edge. Even on setting 3 it has about 90 over stock. If you didn't limp it, your Alli should handle it ok. If you did limp it as it sounds 90 over will continue your tranny's death mode. Like Big Red Chevy and others said, put it back to stock mode or you'll be doing that tranny sooner than may be you like. Definitely do the upgrade rather than just a rebuild if you want to use "More Power.".
